Railway Recruitment 2018 Eligibility Criteria for ALP
Railway Recruitment Board has changed the Eligibilty Criteria for Railway Recruitment 2018. The Upper Age limit has now been changed from 28 years to 30 years for the post of ALP and from 30 years to 33 years for the post of Level 1 Posts (Unreserved Category).
- Candidates must hold Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP and their engineering discipline(Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering with the combination of various streams in the respective Engineering Traits): post of Assistant Loco Pilot
- Candidates who have passed out with Physics and Maths in 12th Standard are eligible for Technician Grade III Signal and Technician Grade III Telecommunication posts namely Post 70 and Post 71 respectively.
- A candidate is required to be: A citizen of India, A subject of Nepal, A subject of Bhutan, A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India or a person of Indian origin who migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam and have the intention of settling permanently in India.

RRB Recruitment 2018: ALP Syllabus
RRB ALP will be taken in 2 stages
- Stage-1: Common for ALP/Technician
- Stage-2: Questions Based on Engineering Discipline
Duration: 60 Min,
No of Questions: 75
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%.
These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
The First Stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The score of first stage exam shall be used only for shortlisting of candidates for second stage exam as per their merit.
Candidates who are shortlisted for Second Stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of a community shall continue to be considered only against that community for all subsequent stages of recruitment process. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:
1.) Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
2.) General Intelligence and Reasoning Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
3.) General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of the 10th standard level.
4.) General awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and other subjects of importance.
Second Stage CBT
Shortlisting of Candidates for the Second Stage CBT exam shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in the First Stage CBT Exam.
A total number of candidates to be shortlisted for the second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.
PART A
Duration: 90 Min,
No of Questions: 100

4.) General Awareness on Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.
PART B
Duration: 60 Min,
No of Questions: 75
Qualifying Mark: 35 % (This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible)
This part is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade. Candidates holding Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility

RRB Railway Group D Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern for RRB Railway Group D constitutes of one stage of Computer Based Test followed by PET (Physical Efficiency Test). here is a full detail of both the stages.
Stage-1: Computer Base Test
- Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-30%.
- Question Papers consist of multiple-choice objective type questions
- There will be negative Marking as for every wrong answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted.

Stage-2: PET Test
Candidate needs to undergone by PET test if he/she clears Test-1 which is a computer based test. The requirements of PET test are as follows:
