RPF Constable Recruitment 2018: Railway Protection force is recruiting more than 9500 Candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector and Constable all over India. On 19th May RPF has released a notification on the Official website of RPF with complete details of RPF Constable Education qualification, Age Limit, Exam fees, Exam Syllabus, Exam Pattern and Result announcement. You can also get all the details in this post regarding the same.

Date of Opening of Online registration: 10 hrs on 01/06/2018
Date of Closing of Online registration: 23.59 hrs on 30/06/2018
Tentative Date for Computer Based Test (CBT): In September and October 2018.

RPF Constable Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must be a citizen of India.
(ii) A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
(iii) Educational Qualification and age:

RPF Constable Recruitment 2018

Matriculation certificate from a recognized Board for Constable (Executive) shall only be valid. Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational qualification SHOULD NOT apply.

Selection Process of RPF Constable Recruitment 2018

All the candidates will undergo the following stages of the recruitment:

  1. Written Test
  2. Physical Efficiency Test
  3. Physical Measurement Test
  4. Document Verification

RPF Constable Examination Fees

  • For all candidates except the fee concession categories, the Exam fees are Rs.500
    * Rs. 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges on appearing in CBT.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex-serviceman/Female/Minorities/Economically backward class Exam fees are Rs.250
    * This fee of Rs. 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges on appearing in CBT.

RPF Constable Exam Syllabus 2018

Exam syllabus of RPF Constable is same as Sub-inspector exam.

  • General Awareness (50 marks): Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society; to test knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observations and experiences as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Indian History, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, General Science etc.
  • Arithmetic (35 marks): Questions on Number systems, whole numbers, decimal and fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, use of table and graphs, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and proportion etc.
  • General Intelligence & reasoning (35 marks): Questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.



Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates will be called for PET and PMT to the extent of 10 times the category wise total vacancy in Group of Zonal Railways/RPSF notified.

However, this limit may be increased/decreased as required ensuring availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. No marks are to be awarded. The criteria for PET is as under:

How to apply for RPF Constable Recruitment 2018 online?

  • In the first step Visit the Official Website – indianrailways.gov.in
  • Click on the RPF Online Link provided on the website.
  • Now Fill in all the required details that are asked.
  • Pay the Application Fees.
  • Scan and upload all the required documents and certificates, photograph and signature that are asked.
  • Submit the Application Form.
  • Download and take out the printout of the Application Form and keep it safe until the completion of the Recruitment procedure.

RPF Constable Exam Admit Card

Candidates can download their RPF Constable Exam Hall Ticket before 2 weeks of examination dates. The process to download exam admit card is as follows:

  • Candidates can verify their eligibility status from the website. SMS and email messages will be sent to all eligible candidates about the e-call letter upload details.
  • Photographs shall be scanned in color and printed on the call letter.
  • Eligible candidates can download the e-call letter from the Indian Railways website about 10 days before the date of the CBT/PET/PMT/Document Verification(as applicable).
  • No call letter will be sent to candidates by post.
